The business model was proposed in 1950 s,however,it has been widely used and disseminated since the nineties.At present,with the rapid development and popularization of internet technology,the business model has been promoted to a new level,especially in the field of e-commerce.Peter.Drucker,a master in the field of management,once said: "At the moment,the competition between enterprises is no longer limited to the level of competitive products and services,but has risen to the competition between the business model",which may well show the situation in the current commercial society.It can be said that a good business model is the assurance that the enterprise will continue to earn profits and grow continuously,from this point of view,it is necessary to study the business model.At present,many experts and scholars have conducted in-depth research in this field and have achieved many research results,however,most research is based on the business model itself,for example,to study the definition,composition and innovation of business model at the theoretical level,and there is relatively little literature on the relationship and impact of business model and financial performance by combining business models with financial performance,research conducted in the form of specific cases is not enough particularly.Based on this,in order to further study the impact of business models on financial performance,this article takes the financial angle as the entry point,select two representative enterprises in the field of e-commerce : Alibaba and Jingdong,as a case study,in order to draw the results and enlightenment for reference.On the basis of summarizing the relevant theories and combining the understanding of the business model,the article defines the connotation and the elements of the business model,and then analyzes the business model of the enterprise from the angle of finance,refined four business model research dimensions from financial perspective : profit orientation,asset allocation,capital acquisition and cash flow creation,which will provide theoretical support for the follow-up study of the impact mechanism of business model on financial performance,and finally through case studies,making a comparative analysis on the impact of different business models between Alibaba and Jingdong on financial performance,which indicates different business models of E-commerce enterprises have impact on business activities,investment activities and financing activities,then affect financial performance and produce different financial performance results.For the research carried out in this paper and the related conclusions drawn,will enrich related theoretical research on business model as well as the research about impact of business model on financial performance,at the same time,for other e-commerce enterprises that wish to design or improve their business models to improve financial performance,the paper will provide a reference.
