| Big data is changing journalism.The traditional news-producing experience is no longer suitable now.Media all over the world are ready to make changing.The audience has been involved in an unprecedented news experience.Driven by the algorithms,machines can find ideas automatically;reporters and editors can accurately produce more valuable news;the audience,information,news producers,third-party technology companies and professionals interact with each other,promoting the progress of events or even predicting the outcomes by exchanging information.Now,how is news being made? In the 1970 s,Tuchman and other scholars did the research from the perspective of media sociology,trying to observe and analyze the characteristics of news-producing model.Some of these classical theories still work today,while some may not.This paper reviews the historical development of news-producing model theories through case study,discussing how the media environment,information technology and other factors may influence the model of news-producing.Other parts of the paper try to clarify the definitions of computer-assisted reporting,data news and computational journalism and the relationships among them.Then the more comprehensive ‘computational journalism' is chosen as the research subject of news-producing model study in the era of big data.Some typical cases of ‘computational journalism' in contemporary journalistic practice are selected for analysis,so as to summarize the characteristics of ‘computational journalism' and to explore the producing model. |
