At present,the Layer 2 forwarding technology for data flows in the Multi Dewelling Unit(MDU)is relatively mature,but it still faces the problem of large data traffic bursting in the 5G era.The core equipment of the access network for Layer 2 data forwarding has also become a factor in the acceleration of large-capacity data in 5G networks.Research on Layer2 switching technology on the MDU is mainly based on the ASIC chip to study the five business functions of the data forwarding of the switching subsystem.In actual engineering,when high-traffic data is processed on the ASIC chip,there will be a problem that data frames are sent to the CPU due to insufficient buffering,and the CPU is washed out.Although the CPU in the ASIC chip can perform software processing such as Layer 2 cache cleaning in a timely manner,the hardware architecture of the MDU device still needs to be designed.Let the MDU support relatively high data forwarding in order to meet the needs of ultra-wide services.This dissertation designs the hardware architecture of the researched MDU equipment,using a distributed data processing architecture and an ultra-wide backplane.The specific implementation of Layer 2 data frame forwarding is based on Broadcom's ASIC chip.Based on the API of the ASIC chip SDK,five business functions of the Layer 2 switching subsystem have been developed: QOS(Quality of Service),TM(Traffic Management),multicast,and FDB(Forwarding Data Base)and CPU message management.These five modules are independent of each other,and the relationship between the levels of each module is defined and designed.At the same time,the pipeline processing operation of the data frame by the ASIC chip is completed accordingly.Finally,according to the actual needs of users,the networking and business environment of the device are simulated locally.Corresponding tests are performed on the MDU device for each service function of Layer 2 data frame forwarding.Verifying the processing capability of the MDU for Layer 2 data frame forwarding.Solving the problem of insufficient data forwarding bearing capacity resources of MDU equipment in the large-capacity data environment of 5G networks.
