Dental Unit is the main equipment for dental treatment. According to characteristics of the system's distributed structure, a modular design was adopted based on single-chip microcomputer control system.Through the determination of the four function modules which are therapy apparatus chair, main, vice keyboard, the paper finished the overall design. The hardware structure was identified according to system functional requirements and the hardware circuit was designed individually.By analyzing the requirement of response between modules, slave dominance multi-machine serial communication mode was proposed. And the communication protocol was designed so as to achieve fast data communications between modules. In the function module design, the air pressure measurement circuit was designed for linear display, and a reliable power failure data-storage solution was described. In the fact of accurate positioning requiring for chair, some position sampling means were analyzed and effective methods of improving precision were discussed in the paper. Stepless light adjustment circuit was designed for operation lamp by using of TRIAC. A LCD was allocated to display working condition of dental unit, including clock time, chair state and air pressure. In order to improve the reliability, system security and anti-interference were briefly analyzed.This control system has accomplished intelligent control for the Dental Unit and achieved reliable performance, high automation and cost performance. It has strong promotional practical value.
