Research On The New Formats Of Physical Bookstores In Shanghai

With the rise of the Internet and the prosperity of economy,people's preference of buying books and reading has undergone great changes under the impact of the introduction of online bookstores and digital publishing.As a retail format impacted by e-commerce early and greatly,more and more physical bookstores choose to transform and develop,making up for the difficulties in book sales with diversified formats.From the perspective of the development level of physical bookstores in China,the development of physical bookstores in Shanghai has been at the forefront of the country due to Shanghai's unique political and economic status.In recent years,bookstores in Shanghai has presented a new pattern of diversified operation and development.Taking the physical bookstores in Shanghai as a sample to study,we can analyze the new formats of various bookstores,and establish a more scientific evaluation system that meets the requirements of cultural industry standards.It will be conducive to making a reasonable evaluation for the development of physical bookstores in China from multiple perspectives,and provide adjustment strategies based on it.It is of practical significance to explore the transformation and innovation of physical bookstores in the future.This paper reviews the development of physical bookstores in Shanghai since the founding of China through empirical research and literature survey,and makes an investigation and analysis of the current development of new formats of physical bookstores in Shanghai.Based on the comprehensive domestic research results,combined with the reality of Shanghai,this paper classifies the existing new format bookstores in Shanghai,and selects various typical cases to discuss their development characteristics and transformation modes.At the same time,this paper establishes a relatively complete evaluation index system of the new format of physical bookstores,and makes a preliminary typical case evaluation for the new format of physical bookstores.Many problems have been exposed in the development of physical bookstores,but in the context of new retail,there are more opportunities for development.Based on the research and evaluation results,this paper puts forward four suggestions for the development of the new business mode of physical bookstores: Oriented by readers' needs,driven by technology convergence,framed by scenario construction,and enhanced by cultural value-added.
