In the field of imaging systems such as machine vision and video surveillance.CCD has occupied an absolute market share in this field with its low noise,high sensitivity and high resolution from the 1970 s to the 1990 s.With the rapid development of imaging semiconductor technology in the early 21 st century,CMOS image sensors have gradually left the CCD behind because of its excellent image quality,low power consumption and high integration.Taking the CMV8000 image sensor of CMOSIS as an example.The gap between CMOS image sensor and CCD in imaging quality and sensitivity has become very small,and the CCD has been exceeded in terms of volume,integration,power consumption and cost.CMV8000 is widely used to machine vision and monitoring research fields for its high speed and large area array.Based on the CMV8000 image sensor and the Xilinx kintex-7 series XC7K410 T FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array).This paper presents an imaging system design.First of all,the author has consulted a large number of literatures,technical manuals and professional websites to investigate the development of CMOS and CCD image sensors and the research status of high-speed industrial cameras at home and abroad.Then the author puts forward the design meaning of this article and sets the design goals.Secondly,this author details the characteristics of the imaging system development environment and development language.And the selection of each chip of the imaging system is also elaborated.According to the design needs,the hardware circuit architecture of CMOS board +(FPGA + Camera Link)board is developed based on kintex-7 series XC7K410 T FPGA and CMV8000 image sensor as the core.The system power supply module,clock module and transmission module solution are introduced in detail.and the peripheral circuit design of each chip is furture elaborated.Thirdly,the article completes the imaging system software design based on the hardware circuit design.The software part includes a CMOS image sensor driver module,an imaging data capture module,a pixel buffer module,and a transmission control module.These modules implement functions such as sensor register configuration,exposure control,differential data conversion,pixel re-integration,and data transfer display.Finally,the article completed the joint debugging and tested the key parameters of the imaging system.and then collected the image data.The targeted analysis of the deficiencies in the design was made and the improvement ideas were forward.In the end,this paper completed the imaging system design based on Xilinx Kintex-7 series XC7K410 T FPGA and CMV8000 image sensor.The CMOS image array 1792*2528,output frame rate 40 fps,power consumption 1.2W.The imaging system captures images clearly and stably,meeting the design requirements.
