The high-speed imaging system is playing an important role in many areas, such as aerial remote sensing, geographical surveying and industrial inspection.Based on the progress of technology and the promotion of user demands in recent years,CMOS imaging systems will replace CCD imaging systems to become the nucleus of imaging systems. Now the high resolution and high speed imaging system based on CMOS is monopolized by America,Germany and Japan. Our country has invested a large mount of resource to dig into this field and got big achievements. We still have a huge gap with developed countries. In this circumstance,it is my duty to study in imaging system based on CMOS.This technology not only has value in practice but also in research.Firstly, this paper interprets the fundamentals and technical characteristics of imaging systems based on CMOS.Then,a embedded imaging system based on FPGA is designed by using a high-performance CMOS belong to ALEXIMA.This paper introduces AM41V4's performance index in detail and chooses a FPGA called Spartan6 belong to XINLINX as the core chip. This imaging system is combined by bias drive module, cameralink output module, system power module and FPGA master control module. In this embedded imaging system,FPGA is used to control CMOS's line time sequence and frame sequence according to CMOS's temporal logic.Considering the data quantity of the camera, this system uses a cameralink under FULL type to control the serial port.XC6SLX75 belong to Xilinx is used as the core chip of this system and Verilog DHL describes hardware feature. At last,it uses ISE to do simulation and experiment debugging. After we test the system, the result shows that this CMOS high definitionand and high speed imaging system based on FPGA can achieve the desired function.
