A Study On The Exhibit Design Of Shanghai Museum

This article takes the exhibition history of Shanghai Museum as the research object,and divides the exhibition history since the Shanghai Museum began to build the museum in 1950 into four stages:(1)From 1950 to 19 71,the Shanghai Museum determined the site and collected the collection from scratch.Under the influence of the Soviet museum display design method and the guiding ideology of museum display design in China,the exhibition design was initially completed.Ten exhibition halls were set up according to the historical era,which reflected the development of Chinese art in the past,but in terms of form design,due to conditions,the exhibits were simply placed or hung according to the theme;(2)From 1972 to 1995,after the relocation of the Shanghai Museum,due to the increase in the number of cultural relics,the exhibition display format was changed to be arranged according to the stage of social development.During the "Cultural Revolution" period,the museum's business activities were suspended,until 1972 began to gradually recover.In order to reflect the characteristics of the collection and meet the needs of the audience,the Shanghai Museum has changed the comprehensive display to a special exhibition,and has s et up four special exhibition halls.At this stage,the Shanghai Museum added glass cabinets for the hanging exhibits.The layout of the exhibits in the cabinets was also improved,adding a sense of rhythm while neatly,and began to try to explain the combination of text and pictures.During this period,the academic exchanges of the Shanghai Museum became more and more frequent,and the academic research was increasingly enriched.Under the background of the clear guidelines for museum display design,a comprehensive display and reconstruction was carried out in combination with its own nature.More attention is paid to coordination between the exhibition hall environment and the exhibits by the designer,and the design of the environment,lighting,display props,etc.is used to set off the exhibit body to minimize information interference.At the same time,the Shanghai Museum also actively organizes special exhibitions.The various special exhibitions complement the museum's lack of collections,and have made great progress in its display content and form.(3)From 1996 to now,from "three close" to Free of charge,the construction of museums in China has been further emphasized.The Shanghai Museum has been updating and improving the basic display for man y years.It has improved its display system,exhibit layout and lighting design,and has paid more attention to the theme selection and social benefit of special exhibitions.The paper analyzes and summarizes the exhibition design work of Shanghai Museum at each stage,and expounds the representative basic display and special exhibition as typical cases.The paper pointed out that the exhibition design of the Shanghai Museum is progressively advanced as a whole,and the statistics and analysis of the resul ts of the questionnaire are presented and the questions and prospects are raised.
