Research On News Communication And Report Of Sexual Assault Cases

With the development of the Internet era,not only the main body of news dissemination is gradually diversified,but also more and more ways for people to get in touch with the media such as news dissemination and reporting.Even many minors are often affected by the media's influence on public opinion and major events.As more people participate in the media,the dissemination of public opinion and major events has more extensive and interactive,the case of many cases,trial procedures are also widely subject to the supervision of public opinion.However,it cannot be ignored that the widespread dissemination on the other hand also represents that the impact of these events in the society will be magnified,media reports may occur offside phenomenon,the fair judicial rights of citizens may be violated,the reputation of the victims may be greatly damaged,the social stability may also cause a greater movement.In this regard,we should think more about how to grasp the degree of violence and bad facts in reporting negative events in the practice of news dissemination.On the one hand,we should reduce the secondary harm to the victims of negative events;on the other hand,we should protect the worldview of minors who are still growing physically and mentally.Sexual assault cases are kinds of cases with extensive problems in the dissemination of news reports.The orientation of public opinion reports tends to lead to domino stimulating effect,which leads to occasional news reports and moral panic.In addition,the media's coverage of sexual assault cases is prone to spread bias,leading to the media's "labeling" and "metaphor" of cases.The causes of these problems are not only the external causes such as the impact of capitalization,the lack of supervision mechanism,the media's improper competition to attract the audience's attention,but also the internal causes such as the improper positioning of the media's role.In addition,this paper also extends the thinking on the news reports of sexual assault cases,such as the tendency of binary opposition to both sexes in the reports of sexual assault cases and the tendency to consume women's bodies.In view of the above anomalistic problems and their causes,the author thinks through the analysis of this paper that it can be improved and corrected through strengthening self-discipline,optimizing the environment of media organizations,perfecting the supervision mechanism of the industry,and cultivating citizens' ethics.
