With the development of media technology, the history of traditional reading has opened a new chapter.Reading no longer depends only on the carrier of books. In the era of digital reading, reading has evolved into an interactive communication between people and digital symbols. The transformation of the reading medium has not only changed the carrier and form of the reading materials, but also changed the reading habits of people at the desk and the books, and the reading habits of cold and independent thinking. It has also changed the social behavior of readers derived from traditional paper reading. At present, although Chinese academics have extensive research on digital reading itself, they have not paid attention to the social impact of smart media, and have failed to better integrate knowledge and promote knowledge production by integrating media with reading.opinion.This is also the case. There is an extraordinary lack of empirical investigations on the current status of national reading and studies on the exact relationship between media technology and readers 'social behavior. This article takes the theory of needs as the basis of the discussion, and adopts the research framework of activity theory.Through an electronic questionnaire survey of 1003 Hangzhou citizens and three rounds of in-depth interviews with 22 Hangzhou citizens who have certain reading habits, starting with the main body of reading, they learned about the choice of reading content and the characteristics of reading behavior of Hangzhou citizens in the digital reading mode.Reading media preferences and changes in the reading environment have analyzed the reading habits of Hangzhou citizens in the context of media changes in detail.Based on reading a large number of domestic and foreign reading surveys and media research literature, this article furtherexplores the social impact of the digital reading model, including readers' cognition, identity, and knowledge acquisition effects. The study found that new technologies have been embedded in people's daily lives, and digital reading has the potential to replace traditional reading.Contemporary Hangzhou citizens show obvious utilitarianity when reading, that is,reading for the purpose of improving self and improving social competitiveness;Hangzhou citizens have obvious anxiety in reading, which is mainly manifested as reading anxiety and knowledge anxiety;as reading With the development of the media, reading has become more and more social, and the audience displays images and maintains social relationships through reading, which virtually endows the digital reading with the "front" performance color. The study believes that the existing digital reading mode is essentially consumption of the media, which is not conducive to readers 'access to information, making the contradiction between readers' income and demand constantly increasing. When it reaches an extreme state, readers will "electronically detoxify" and return to tradition read. However, with the evolution of media technology, the smart + reading mode will emerge, and humanity will further move towards the global brain era, which will better pass on knowledge and activate the hidden vitality of knowledge production.
