Due to the rapid development of media technology, fan culture is constantly updated. The traditional one-way worship relationship between "stars and fans" has been replaced by "two-way interaction and common cultivation".Fans have gradually become a huge group active on social platforms, especially fans of nurturance series that have emerged in recent years who have a larger organization scale and are more professional. They can carry out a series of online practices based on their love for idols. Therefore,a new kind of emotional labor began to rise in this process, and the two-way emotional labor between idol and fans gradually became the norm in the fandom.Based on the relevant theories of fan culture and emotional labor, this thesis selects fan club as the research object, and explains the network practice of nurturance series fans through network ethnography, participatory observation and in-depth interviews. It is found that there is a two-way emotional labor relationship between idol and fans, and the two form an emotional community through different degrees and types of performance and labor. The research background is mainly introduced in the introduction part of the thesis, including research objectives, research objects and methods, and review of relevant literature. The first chapter reviews the theory of emotional labor, and puts forward the theoretical framework of this article: The emotional labor of fans is essentially a performance. They regulate and control their emotions and actions through emotional decoration. They are vague the boundary between the true self and the acting self, and two-way emotional labor with idols is established to build an emotional community. The second chapter introduces the basic characteristics of the fan community in emotional roles, organizational structure, and community norms, and discusses the formation of its emotional labor and the maintenance of the status of the fan community. The third chapter focuses on the two-way emotional labor of idols and fans, discuss the formation of emotional community by discussing the surface performance and in-depth performance of idols and different types of emotional labor for fans. The last chapter discusses the identity of fans, which will realize their self-identity through strong emotional relationship with idols and self-performance.Then they will realize group identity through common symbol system and collective actions. But at the same time, fans are walking between virtual and reality, and in some cases, they are separated from the group. There is a threshold space for identity.
