The Design And Implementation On Library Books Borrowing System Of Anshan Vocational School Town

Library books borrowing system of Anshan Vocational School Town is booksinformation management system, which is mainly used for achieving network and informationof books management aspects, to improve librarians’ work efficiency, make booksmanagement more quickly and accurately, make working process of books management morescientific, normative, and make users’ query more convenient. There are two aspects in itsdevelopment, which are background database and front-end application. For the former, itrequires to set up a database with good data consistency, integrity and security. For the latter,it needs to have application program with complete functions, easy to use, and other features.According to realistic business process, the research and design of this system aredivided into the following eleven function modules: readers borrowing books management,readers returning books management, books renewing management, books returning-remindermanagement, circulation books management, readers registration management, returningrecords management, readers reported for loss management, readers logout management,readers statistical management and functions setup management. Thereinto, functions setupmanagement includes department setup, type setup, users management, rules of special typesof books borrowing, books borrowing in holidays, modification of quantity of books whichreaders borrowed, changing password, and so on.The development of this system adopts client-side/server mode, and that is c/s mode.This kind of mode can improve working efficiency, adopting c/s structure, so the processingcapacity of client-side pc can give full play, and much work can be submitted to server afterbeing dealt in client-side. At the same time, security verification can be guaranteed, andclient-side response speed can be faster, so it is c/s mode’s advantages. Client-side uses SQLServer2000as background database server, and Delphi as development tool.This system has been used in Anshan Vocational School Town, with normal operationaltesting, and good feedback by librarians and users.
