Research On The International Development Of Chinese STM Journals From The Perspective Of "The Belt And Road"

A STM journal is an important carrier for inheriting human civilization,gathering scientific discoveries,and leading the development of science and technology.It is also an important manifestation of China's scientific and technological competitiveness and cultural soft power.At present,the number of STM journals in China is close to 5,000 currently it fully deserves to be considered as a major country with STM journals.To transform from a STM journals country to a STM journal powerhouse,we must promote the international development of STM journals.The “Belt and Road” initiative focuses on the common prosperity of developed and developing countries,it has provided unprecedented opportunities for the internationalization of STM journals.It has become an urgent problem for Chinese STM journals on how to seize the period of historical opportunities,enhance their international influence,so as to promote Chinese STM journals to the world-class level.The first part of the thesis analyzes the international development environment of China 's STM journals along the “Belt and Road”.The second part uses quantitative analysis to analyze the development status of China's STM journals in the countries along the “Belt and Road”,including the subject distribution,regional distribution,publishing organization,language,and carrier form of China's STM journals in the “Belt and Road” national library in addition,the international influence status of China's STM journals in the “Belt and Road” countries is analyzed according to the STM journals.In the third part,on the basis of the statistics,we conclude that there are problems in the international development of Chinese STM journals along the “Belt and Road” countries,including the lack of disciplinary focus,uncoordinated regional development,low degree of intensive publishing,lack of “Belt and Road” national language journals and the low level of digitalization of journals.Finally,in light of the actual development of Chinese STM journals,the internationalization path of Chinese STM journals under the “Belt and Road”context is proposed,including optimizing the publishing structure of STM journals,promoting the integration and publishing of STM journals,innovating the publishing model of STM journals,improve the management and operation capabilities of STM journals and comprehensively guarantee the international development of STM journals.
