All countries are competing to develop phased array radar,because phased array radar can perform many functions such as search alerting,tracking guidance,target recognition and guidance at the same time.Otherwise,it has many advantages such as large target capacity,high data rate,high reliability and convenient stealth.As is well-known,radar simulation technology has the advantages of reducing cost,improving efficiency and shortening development cycle in the process of developing phased array radar.The traditional phased array radar simulation has the problems of low efficiency and time-consuming based on CPU platform,which seriously restricts the wide application of phased array radar simulation.However,Graphic Processor Unit(GPU)owns many computing units,which can conveniently realize large-scale parallel computing.It provides a new solution for phased array radar simulation,and the application of GPU in radar simulation is a research hotspot at present.GPU parallel computing technology can be used in phased array radar simulation and parallel algorithms can be designed for phased array radar simulation.Phased array radar parallel simulation can not only greatly improve the simulation speed,but also better simulate the working process of actual radar,and more accurately analyze and evaluate radar performance.Firstly,the overall design scheme of parallel simulation of phased array radar is given.Aiming at the slow running speed of the serial simulation of phased array radar,the work flow of the serial simulation of phased array radar is evaluated,and the timing-consuming part is analyzed.According to the hardware structure and parallel programming method of the general computing GPU,the parallel simulation algorithm is designed and the work flow of phased array radar parallel simulation under two working modes is designed.The whole structure of phased array radar parallel simulation system is given and the parallel simulation scheme of phased array radar is formed.Secondly,the models of phased array radar parallel simulation system(including resource scheduling model,transmitter model,coordinate conversion model,target echo model,interference model,clutter model,receiver model,signal processing model and data processing model)are modeled in parallel,the key techniques of parallel simulation are introduced and the simulation results are given to verify the module function.Also,themodel library of radar parallel simulation system is enriched.Finally,combined with the above theoretical content,the model codes are redeveloped using C++,MySQL database and Array Fire library.The parallel simulation system of phased array radar is implemented on the general GPU platform.The simulation results show that the phased array radar parallel simulation achieves about 20 times acceleration compared with the serial simulation,which verifies the acceleration performance of the parallel simulation system.The visual display and control platform is used to display the target trace,track and main detection results,and the accuracy of the simulation results is analyzed to verify the correctness of the parallel simulation system.In the process of developing the parallel simulation system of phased array radar,the open source and cross platform development tools are used to improve the expansibility and reusability of the system,and reduce the difficulty and cost of the system development.In the process of parallel simulation system development,database is used to store and manage simulation data,and the flexibility of data interaction is improved.The parallel simulation system of phased array radar has achieved better acceleration performance,and the simulation system efficiency has been greatly improved,which has certain engineering reference significance.
