The modeling and simulation of phased-array radar system is always a very important and difficult problem in radar system simulation, as well as the validation, verification and accreditation (VV&A) for its key models. Among all parts of a whole radar system, the phased-array antenna is the most critical one, because the veracity and accuracy of the radar system simulation is directly influenced by it. Additionally, the VV&A is not only the assurance of high reliability of the system simulation models, but also the precondition and the basis of the validity of the simulation data.This thesis consists of two sections. In the first section, it studies the characteristics and modeling methods of density-weighted antenna, and then take PAVE PAWS as an example. From the simulation of PAVE PAWS on computer, which is also performed in this thesis, some meaningful conclusions are acquired.In the second section, by analyzing the characteristics of phased-array radar system simulation and the factions which influences the validity of the models, the thesis puts forward a holistic method of VV&A. And basing on static testing result and dynamic examination data, it discusses in detail the qualitative and quantitative verification methods suit to models of phased-array radar system simulation, including statistical and nonstatistical ones, and applies those to the verification for inner models, power and accuracy of phased-array radar system simulation. In additional, it analyses the verification for the detection capability of the phased-array radar system with or without jamming. The result of experimentations concludes that the thought and the methods put forward in this thesis are effective and feasible, and they are directive and applicative for phased-array radar system simulation and EW simulation weather in signal level or in function level.In the last, the thesis also puts forward some problems to be investigated in future.
