Analyzing The Content Of China- Related Economic Coverage From Global Media

In recent years,China is playing a increasingly important role in the world economy.Meanwhile,Chinese factors have a great effect on the growth of the world economy,speeding up the restructuring of the world economy.In this situation,global media pays more and more attention to China's economy towards Chinese economic situation and the current problems and inefficiency in the development of the capital market in China.This thesis is on the basis of content analysis on the China-related reports from the global media,take “New York Times” “Yomiuri Shimbun” “the Moscow Times”,“The Times”,“India times” for instance.On the basis of qualitative and quantitative study,summarizing the rules and characteristics of international public opinion in all aspects of basic elements about economic coverage including the source of information,news-participants of opinion and reporting tendency.This thesis tends to explore the application of frame theory and overall attitudes of global media hiding beneath the economic coverage under the reality of international opinion field.And combined with the current opinion towards Chinese economy from international media,putting forward effective countermeasures and strategies for outbound communication and the shaping of Chinese national image.The study found that the global opinion about Chinese economy is a complex aggregate,and it is closely related to the interests of the state and international relationships;China-related economic coverage(1)is mostly objective reporting,the overall tendency of reports is neutral.(2)International media not only participates in Chinese development situation,but also shows great concern in the Chinese government,Chinese people and Chinese enterprises.(3)The emphasis of economic coverage is pluralistic,and political diplomacy and energy issues have become the abiding interest.
