In the field of microwave measurement technology,from the most basic electronic performance test,to the system performance comprehensive evaluation of large-scale electronic equipment,microwave signal generators have been used into each link of the process of whole life like development,testing,acceptance,maintenance,security and so on.With the continuous development of science and technology,people have higher and higher requirements on the performance index of microwave signal generator.Therefore,in the development process of signal generator,the comprehensive test and calibration becomes more and more important.This topic comes from the research and development project of a microwave signal generator product of an instrument manufacturer,aiming to provide users with an automatic test and calibration software for this type of microwave signal source,and provide convenient and effective software tools for the production and maintenance of signal source products.Virtual instrument(VI)software technology is used in this project.The research will design PC software basing on the hardware platform of this signal generator product and the software platform of VI developing tool LabWindows/CVI.The main research work includes several parts as follow.First,from the perspective of the functions,parameters and requirements of automatic testing of the microwave signal source product,the requirement of the PC software function is analyzed,the software developing tool is selected and the implementation scheme is designed.Secondly,the design and implementation of the software is implemented.On the one hand,the Graphic User Interface(GUI)is designed as far as possible to achieve a clear functional structure,to ensure that the operation is simple,convenient to use;.On the other hand,the software functions is implemented by designing its source code,which is also the key part,need to solve the remote control of signal source and spectrum analyzer,data reception,data analysis and calibration,test report generation and other problems.Finally,the testing of the PC software is completed.On the one hand,it is debugged with the method of white-box testing by setting breakpoint,single step in LabWindows/CVI.On the other hand,it is tested with the method of black-box testingto verify instrument functions.At present,the software has completed the final test of the research and development stage,and has been delivered to users,entering the trial operation stage.
