GIS(Geographic Information System)technology began in the mid-1960 s.With the rapid development of computer technology and network technology,GIS technology has been widely used in different fields and industries.It is used in transportation planning,land resource management and use,and environmental protection.,Public security fire,electricity,energy development and other areas have built their own work systems,especially in the municipal public infrastructure management role is very obvious,such as road infrastructure management.GIS technology effectively combines graphics processing,visualization operations,and spatial databases,and has powerful data mixing capabilities and geospatial analysis capabilities.This article describes in detail the development background of the road project management system and the application status and development trend of the current GIS technology at home and abroad.The GIS system applied to road engineering management was analyzed,and the problems that the system needs to solve were elaborated in detail.Through the analysis of the application of GIS technology in road project management,the overall design of the system architecture is described.The detailed design of the system and the specific function implementation process are described.This system is aimed at the specific users of road management,and has realized the informationization functions of the main processes of road management in the design,mainly including: project reminder management,road maintenance plan management,project planning operation,project implementation management,project inquiry,project statistics,map tools and daily maintenance and management of roads.The road management information system adopting GIS technology has the characteristics of more complex rules,higher precision,and stronger dynamics.By utilizing the powerful functions of GIS technology,the requirements of municipal management informationization can be realized.Applying GIS technology(geographical information system)to the field of municipal administration,using geospatial database,network technology,geographic information system and other technologies to perform data processing on geographic information,able to accurately collect,modify,and update geospatial data and attribute information in real time,And build an information platform that can be applied to the management of municipal road projects to dynamically manage the comprehensive data of municipal facilities,and provide functions such as auxiliary design,construction project organization and daily maintenance and management of facilities.The real value of GIS in road management applications lies in the realization of visualization of facility management.Road infrastructure management is a systematic and complex task.Through the use of GIS technology,it is possible to complete the establishment of electronic map information and the basic attributes of municipal facilities in the jurisdiction of municipal facilities.Information,through the rapid inquiry,retrieval,analysis,and statistics of spatial and attribute information of various types of resources,can quickly and efficiently provide managers with decision-making basis,and with the continuous updating and development of system simulation technology and computer technology,GIS The application of technology in road management will also more intelligently,digitally,and humanely.
