Wireless sensor network is a multi-hop self-organizing network system composed of many sensor nodes through wireless communication. In most cases, the network nodes are powered by batteries and the energy is very limited.Energy is an important factor that restricts its large-scale application factor.Efficient sleep scheduling algorithm protocol can save energy consumption, extend the life cycle of the network. This paper analyzes the energy consumption of wireless sensor networks in depth, combs the existing dormancy scheduling protocols for wireless sensor networks, and finally divides the wireless sensor network dormancy scheduling protocols into three categories: distance-based clustering,network-based coverage and network-based connectivity class. In this paper, the performance and evaluation index of dormancy scheduling protocol are given. They are average node survival time, network coverage, average energy consumption, average data message delay and network life cycle. For each kind of dormancy scheduling protocol, the simulation model is established, the simulation experiment is carried out by OMNET ++ software, and the simulation results of evaluation index are obtained.According to the simulation results, the above three types of sleep scheduling protocols are analyzed and compared. The results show that the proposed sleep scheduling GAF protocol based on network connectivity has better overall network performance than the LEACH protocol and VSGCA protocol. Finally, this paper successfully implements the sleep mode based on the GAF protocol, which provides a method for the low-power practical application of the wireless network sleep mode.
