Wireless Sensor networks(WSNs), which is made by the convergence of sensor, nested computation, networks and wireless communication technologies, is a novel technology about acquiring and processing information. It is a late-model wireless networks of infrastructureless network and can be used for testing, sensing, collecting and processing information of monitored objects. WSN is a new research area of computer science and technology and has a wide application future. Both academia and industries are very interested in it.Designing routing protocol of WSNs is the main part of this dissertation. The numbers of sensor node in WSN are numerous and single node is extraordinarily limited in resource. The all-important aim of designing routing protocol of WSNs is to reduce the overall energy dissipated in the network and to maximize the network lifetime. This dissertation analyzes and compares some routing protocols that proposed by oversea researcher and assimilates excellence idea among them and designed a new routing protocol of WSN - Multiple-Frame communication Based Energy Efficient Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks (MF-LEACH).In the view of network structure, it partition network to different cluster. Each cluster made up of a cluster head(CH) and some common nodes, CH and common node play different role in the network, CH receive and fuse original signals from nodes and send the aggregated data to Sink. The common nodes only transmit original signals to CH. While in the view of time line, the operation of MF-LEACH is divided into rounds and each round is separated into two phases: setup phase and transmit phase. During set-up phase, we use a distributed mode to form a cluster; During transmit phase, the common nodes can begin sensing and use TDMA mechanism to transmitting data to CH using energy forecast strategy. The CH receives data and sends them to sink. After a certain time, the network enters another round. In order to gain a higher throughput in an lower energy consume, we use certain strategy to divide network into clusters dynamically and rotate CHs.With the OMNeT++ platform, we simulate WSNs' parameters on LEACH protocol, such as energy, frames, Sink's position, etc. Then we compare among these results. At last, we draw the validity and effectivity of multiple frames communication strategy.
