Design And Construction Of The Digital Museum Of Northwest University

Nowadays,information science and technology are developing rapidly.Meanwhile,museums have also entered a new stage of development with the wings of information technology,and on the basis of traditional museums,they have gradually developed into a new form of museum-digital museum.The digital museum shows rich content,novel means and good visual experience of the audience,which makes the traditional museum break through the inherent closed limit and burst out new vitality.The Museum of Northwestern University is a comprehensive university museum built by Northwestern University.It displays the research results of the natural disciplines and cultural relics passed down by Northwest University over a hundred years and shows the long history and the advantages of the traditional disciplines of Northwest University to the teachers,students and the public.However,the traditional operation of museums has been difficult to meet the modern needs,and it is urgent to use a new model to present the collection to the society to the utmost in a multi-dimensional and multi-perspective manner.This paper aims at the actual Museum of Northwestern University,and carries out the related digital construction.It realizes the digitization of the Northwest University Museum after consulting,analyzing and arranging a large number of theories and cases of digital museum construction at home and abroad,combining with the reality of Northwest University,adopting advanced information science and technology,exerting the advantage of existing resources.The main research contents of this paper are given as follow:(1)Design and develop the website of Northwest University Museum on the basis of extensive investigation and research.(2)Apply the QR code technology to the collection tour to realize the voice explanation and video viewing and solve the problem of insufficient number of guides and time limit. (3)With panoramic 360° roaming technology,visitors can use the terminal equipment to watch and interact with the realistic scene.Through the above construction,visitors can not only visit the museum through the original visit mode,but also use the terminal for self-guided tours,audio lectures,panoramic roaming tours,and at any time to check the collections and the entire venue information to enjoy the full experience.
