Since we have entered the information society,the value of knowledge and information has also been highlighted.As a melting pot of historical,artistic and cultural information,museum use various medias to carry out cultural heritage education and promote its knowledge,which is not only the inevitable requirement of the times and society,but also the main link to realize its own value.Self-service audio guides is an important means of museum education and have been used for more than 60 years.However,there are few researches on how it affects the audience's attention distribution and the learning process.This study takes the self-service audio guide facilities of Shanghai Museum and Nanjing Museum as the main research objects,firstly investigates the setting and the usage situation of the rental audio-guides and the self-service audio guide services based on WeChat and museum applications in these museums,then analyses the audience's motivation,information needs and suggestions for improvement.The survey shows that lower using costs make rental audio-guides more popular among audiences,while intelligent devices have advantages in multi-scenario applications and interactivity.Visiting motivation,cultural consumption concept and personal visiting habits are the reasons why many audiences unwilling to use audio guides After that,with the help of image and audio materials of exhibits in two museums,eye-tracking device is used to discuss the audience's observation and information acquisition in the simulated environment with different combinations of audio guide and text explanation.Experiments show that audio guides has an impact on the fixation duration,visiting time and viewing area.It can help them observe more attentively and comprehensively,and enhance their immersion and acquisition.Finally,combined with the results of the audience research and the analysis of eye-tracking experiments,this paper puts forward some suggestions on improving the content,form and promotion of self-service audio guide in museums,aims at improving the learning effect of self-service audio guide,and also helping to provide better experience for museum visitors.
