With the rapid development of the social economy, the application fields of the Internet are becoming more and more extensive. It is becoming more and more difficult to artificially manage and maintain large ISP networks and enterprise networks. The complexity and redundancy of network management is becoming an urgent issue for industry and academia.Introducing autonomic in traditional networks is one of the important means to solve problems such as network management, operation, expansion, and service deployment. The autonomic network realizes optimal decision-making through self-management,reduces the operational burden of the manual management network, and lower the complexity of the network management.Compared with traditional networks, autonomic networks need to manage multiple complex through several methods such as parameter types through discovery, negotiation, and synchronization. Therefore, there are special signaling requirements among autonomic network devices. In 2014,the Internet Engineering Task Group established the Autonomic Networking Integrated Model Approach working group, which aims to propose a generic autonomic network model.Based on the autonomic network model, this thesis focuses on solving the signaling requirements in autonomic networks.First of all, this paper elaborates and analyzes the research background and research status of autonomic networks and Generic Autonomic Signaling Protocol(GRASP).It mainly introduces the architecture, network features and application scenarios of the autonomic network. The common signaling protocols and the key technologies which are needed to implement the GRASP protocol are described at the same time.Secondly, the related principles and workflow of the GRASP protocol are deeply researched, including the components of the GRASP protocol, the message types and the interaction process of each modules.Through research and actual test,it is found that the GRASP protocol has the issues of redundant control overhead and slow convergence of the corresponding process in the discovery process and negotiation process. In order to solve the above problems,an efficient and fast generic autonomic signaling protocol scheme is proposed, which includes an efficient combining multi-parameter discovery mechanism and a centralized negotiation mechanism based on the discovery process.Meanwhile, the specific operation process of the program is elaborated. Then, the functions of the registration module, discovery module, negotiation module, synchronization module and flooding module of GRASP protocol are elaborated. The workflow of each module is studied, and the specific implementation scheme is designed.Meanwhile, the original GRASP protocol and the proposed new mechanism are developed and implemented using the C language in the Linux operating system. The test platform is built to test the functions of each module of the GRASP protocol software. The test results show that each module runs normally and the expected design requirements are satisfied. On this basis, the performance test of GRASP software is completed.Through comparative analysis, the new mechanism can effectively reduce the control overhead of the discovery process and the negotiation process, and can accelerate the convergence speed of the discovery and negotiation process. Finally, the full thesis is summarized. The development prospects of the autonomic network and the GRASP protocol are analyzed.Combined with the author's own research and development experience, the future research direction is indicated.
