High-performance computer technology plays an important role in modern society,it promotes national economy in every aspect and gradually becomes a symbol of a country's science and technology strength.Highperformance computer system includes many network modules such as topology,router,computing and storage nodes,as well as network strategies and algorithms such as routing algorithm and flow control mechanism.Therefore,the design of simulator is very important to high-performance computing system of future updating and upgrading.This article proposes a high performance computer network simulation platform named HPCSim,which includes an automated simulation tool named PySim,an OMNeT++ based discrete event simulator and a data visualization tool named PyVisual.This article introduces silicon photonic interconnection technology and proposes a silicon photonic link model.Comparing to the traditional electrical interconnection technology,silicon photonic interconnection has higher communication density,lower power consumption and longer transmission distance.As for router modeling,this article implements a baseline router structure and puts forward several optimization methods for fully-buffered router,which reduces the pipeline stages as well as decreases crossbar buffer resources.In addition,this article designs a Tianhe-2 like hierarchical router and optimizes the crossbar structure.Finally,a universal Fat-tree network model and Tianhe-2 interconnect network are implemented.Based on which,an adaptive routing algorithm is proposed which chooses the route path by router's load.This article has studied the impact of different network module structure and various sets of network configuration on the high-performance computer performance with the simulation platform.According to the simulation results,the proposed fully-buffered router and hierarchical router can achieve about 20% performance improvement comparing to the baseline router on uniform traffic.Moreover,the Fat-tree network and Tianhe-2 network can achieve a 95% throughput,and the simulation result from this simulation platform reaches a maximum 11% error rate comparing to other simulation platforms.
