The high-speed interconnection network plays an important role in the parallel multiprocessor system. And the router is the key component of the interconnection networks. The router directly effects transmission delay and bandwidth of the interconnection network, and the efficiency of the parallel multiprocessor system. Meanwhile, it is one of the key parts of influencing reliablity. With the increase of the scale of the parallel multiprocessor, the effect of the interconnection networks is more obvious. So, the meaning of research and design the high-performance network router is becoming more and more important.With the XXX key scientific research project of our school, this thesis has mainly carried out research and design to the high-performance router of the mterconnection network system.This thesis carries out the summary to the router structure and function participated in finishing at first. Then we are rearching and relizing the transmition protocol of high reliable link and the protocol of resuming especially. In order to evaluate performance of design, we design the test schemes of single chip and much chips system. And the whole design to test code has established the foundation for the design of the whole project.In order to improve the performance of the router further, we have the further investigate to adaptive routing algorithm and multicast. We address the flow control mechanicsm based on output credit in k-ary n-cube MESH and k-ary n-cube Torus. Based on RSIM simulator, we construct the systematic simulation environment of interconnection networks. And using five representative application programs, which are SOR, QS , FFT , LU and WATER, we prove the validity and performance advantage of the flow control mechanicsm and routing algorithm.In order to analyse adaptive routing algorithm and high-efficient multicast, we design the RingNetSim network simulator with C++ language. Under four communication mode, we carry out comprehensive simulation, analyse the adaptive routing algorithm and multicast in k-ary 2-cube Torus network, and comparing with deterministic routing algorithm.
