A Comparative Study Of Official Public Opinion Fields And Folk Opinion Fields Based On Framework Theory

The fact that Chinese tourists were treated harshly by the Swedish police was a minor conflict,but after the reports of the mainstream media and the fermenting of the sensation,the cognition of the official public and folk opinion field was different.This paper attempts to compare the differences between the official public and folk opinion field through this incident and its causes.This core issue can be broken down into the following sub-questions: How does the official public opinion field frame the facts in this incident and report on the incident? How does the folk opinion field comment on the incident? What is the reason for the rise of confrontational sentiment in the folk opinion field,which makes the voices of the two public opinion fields different.In response to the above problems,this thesis is based on framework theory.The case of Chinese tourists being treated harshly by the Swedish police is the subject of this thesis.The Weibo reports on the official public and the folk opinion field are taken as research samples,which attempt to present the selection and reproduction process of this event from seven aspects: release date,source path,Weibo form,Weibo theme,source,subject frame and orientation.Finally,this thesis summarizes the characteristics of the two public opinion fields.On this basis,this thesis compares the differences between two opinion fields,and put forward their own suggestions for the mainstream media to improve their credibility and influence.The thesis finds that the official public opinion field has shaped our government's response to this framework to shape the images of the government that protects citizens' rights and interests from infringement.The folk opinion field is centered around the framework of moral judgment.In general,it is a moral judgment about the individual behaviors of citizens.Specifically,the official public opinion field shows four characteristics in the process of constructing the Chinese tourists to be treated harshly by the Swedish police: Planning: follow-up reports while highlighting the individual rights and interests of citizens;Guiding: creating a reporting tone that focuses on citizenship;Authoritativeness: official institutions have repeatedly expressed concerns about the individual rights and interests of citizens;and Propaganda: make voices for the country's concerns about the individual rights of citizens.The folk opinion field has the following characteristics: the diversity of themes and values,the rapid construction of the public opinion field,the confrontational emotions,the opinion leaders leading the paradox and the emotional catharsis.Both of them show differences in the four aspects of source path,microblog form,subject frame and emotional orientation.In the current and varied media environment,the mainstream media lacks in this report: a single reporting angle,the use of a source of information has objectivity and impartiality,lack of original content,insufficient depth,lack of professionalism in journalism.Wait.These factors will lead to a decline in the credibility of the mainstream media.In response to the above problems,this study proposes to use facts to balance the discourse power of different stakeholders;to enrich the content of the report in multiple angles and in multiple directions,and to strengthen the in-depth analysis and interpretation of the incident,and to provide professional advice for users to respond to such incidents.
