With the rapid development of electronics,optics and material,people's demands for information expression are becoming higher and higher.It requires not only the high speed of information transfer,but also the 3D perception and comfort.Light field displays realize 3D display by recording and reproducing 360-degree light field of the object.It can faithfully reproduce not only the spatial characteristics of 3D objects,but also their correct occlusion relationship,as one of the main develop directions of the 3D displays technology.Time multiplexing is one of the important means to realize light field displays.Its key device is the light deflector,which has a very high demand on time response.With fast response time,polarizationindependent and no need of alignment layers,it has a great advantage in fabricating light deflector.In addition,the active switchable liquid crystal lens 3D displays can realize the 2D / 3D conversion.It can make full use of existing display technology,being a commercially viable technology in the present stage.Its key device is a switchable liquid crystal lens,which also has a high demand on response time.Thus,blue phase liquid crystal is also widely researched in this field.This article studies the blue phase liquid crystal light deflector,which is used in light field displays.According to the human eye imaging characteristics,requirements of the light deflector's performance are obtained.A new structure of blue phase liquid crystal light deflector is proposed and validated by simulation test.Then,switchable blue phase liquid crystal lens is studied.A novel fabrication method for polymer stabilized blue phase liquid crystal lens is proposed.It features easy fabrication,low cost and good performance.And can also be widely used in various optical devicesIn conclusion,this article studies the blue phase liquid crystal devices in the application of 3D display.Simulation is achieved and devices are fabricated.And good performance are obtained.
