With the deepening of the practice of"The Belt and Road",it is increasingly important to carry out peripheral publicity work. With similar beliefs, systems and roads,Laos is an important neighboring country.Since the establishment of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in 2009,the exchanges between China and Laos have become increasingly frequent and the areas of cooperation have been expanded. With the improvement of the lancang-mekong cooperation mechanism in recent years, the cooperation between the two sides in the media field is also increasing. This paper summarizes the process of media cooperation and communication between China and Laos in the form of timeline, and summarizes the current situation of media cooperation and communication between the two countries from four aspects, including personnel exchanges, activity organization, content production and industry joint construction. The research shows that the media cooperation between China and Laos is mainly led by the government, with strong official color and low level of private participation. In terms of media cooperation, traditional media such as newspapers, magazines, radio and television are the main focus, while new media cooperation is rare.According to the reports published by the media of the two countries, there are fewer reports about each other, focusing on political and economic topics. In addition, the training of media talents in Laos has just started, and there are few professional talents who can serve the media cooperation between the two countries. However, there are fewer media talents who know Laos and master Lao language in China,so the talent problem is quite prominent. Therefore,in the process of media cooperation between China and Laos, the two countries should first adhere to the principle of mutual respect and consultation on an equal footing, give full play to the social function of media, promote the development of relations between relevant countries and mutual understanding and trust, and enhance friendly exchanges and cultural exchanges between the two peoples.Second, the two sides should expand communication channels, attach importance to the role of Chinese media, film and television media and emerging media, expand their influence and tell a good story of bilateral cooperation. Moreover current Laos domestic media industry at present, the cooperation should not only stay in state media, local media also should actively involved, through the way of "peer-to-peer" cooperation, mutual information between the local media, the two countries through measures such as the joint report, arrange personnel,cross-cultural,cross-regional business communication, enhance the level of news coverage and quality. On the issue of human resources, the two countries should not only train high-quality media talents, but also give play to the role of "bridge groups" including state leaders, diplomats, senior media officials and foreign journalists.Only in this way can bilateral cooperation be deepened and the development of the two countries move forward.
