With the acceleration of urbanization and the upgrading of social transformation in China,the speed of population movement is getting faster and faster.These immigrants flow from rural to urban,from economically underdeveloped cities to economically developed cities,forming a huge social group-new urban immigrants.The large number of new urban immigrants is an important driving force in the process of urbanization in China.Their living conditions affect the harmony and stability of the whole society and play an important role in the development of social economy.In the process of integrating new urban immigrants into immigrant cities,whether the media can build a fair and objective media image,examine themselves on new urban immigrants,communicate with local citizens,and The formulation of government policies is of great significance.This paper selects the news reports of new urban immigrants from January 1,2017 to December 31,2018 in Southern Metropolis Daily,using the methods of content analysis,text analysis and so on.This paper makes a deep analysis of the media image of new urban immigrants presented in the Southern Metropolis Daily.In the study,according to the economic and social status of urban new immigrants,urban new immigrants are divided into elite immigrants,middle-level immigrants,and low-level migrants.Through the study,it is found that the positive images of elite immigrants account for the vast majority;the middle-level immigrants are mainly positive images,followed by the image of the weak,the image of the benevolent,the negative image is less;Immigrants often encounter misfortune,the image of the weak who receive help,stick to the positive,negative image of professional positions more concentrated.At the same time,the news reports about the new immigrants in the city have the following characteristics,that is,the image proportion is unbalanced,the media image is Facebook,the new immigrants'speaking power is weak,the reporting procedure is routine,and the emotion expression is "not revealed".At the end of this paper,the author puts forward some thoughts on the presentation of new urban immigrants.
