In recent years, with the development of Internet technology, wireless network communication mode adapts to the development of the current situation,so wireless communication technology puts forward higher requirements for the speed and quality of network data transmission. As a new wireless network technology, wireless Mesh network has become a hot research area for researchers and research institutions at home and abroad.According to the research on the theoretical background and network structure of wireless Mesh network, most of the research on wireless Mesh network focuses on the research of routing technology.Routing protocols with high integrating degree and excellent performance can greatly improve the overall performance of wireless Mesh network. However, the routing protocols in wireless Mesh networks still have a lot of room for improvement. The reason is that the routing protocol used in the traditional wireless network cannot be fully applied to the structural characteristics of the wireless Mesh network. Most of the routing metrics do not take into account load and interference problems, causing network congestion in areas with heavy network load.In the process of data transmission, the maximum capacity of link transmission cannot be utilized, resulting in waste of network resources.Eventually, wireless Mesh networks carry low-throughput,low-reliability,and high-latency tags. This paper focuses on the routing protocol proposed by the IEEE802.11 s draft for wireless Mesh networks, and uses the network load balancing awareness, interference awareness and network coding technology to improve the performance of HWMP(Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol)routing protocols in wireless Mesh networks.the following is the specific content of the improvement strategy:(1)Improved routing metrics for HWMP routing protocols.Based on the original HWMP routing protocol,an improved LB-IA-HWMP(Load Balancing and Interference Aware HWMP)routing protocol is proposed, which adopts a comprehensive routing criterion BPF(Best Path Finding). This routing criterion comprehensively considers the load capacity and processing capacity of thenode and the degree of interference of the link. The protocol breaks the single routing metric of the original routing protocol, and adopts an integrated routing metric that measures multiple factors, which not only ensures the traffic load balancing between nodes in the network, but also limits the influence range of link interference. Therefore, the adoption of the protocol can greatly reduce network congestion and reduce link interference during the operation of the wireless mesh network. After NS2 simulation and analysis, the results show that the high-load area is effectively prevented during the network operation, and the link resources of data transmission between nodes in the wireless Mesh network are fully utilized to improve the performance of the wireless Mesh network.(2)Improved data transmission of HWMP routing protocol.Based on the improvement of the above HWMP routing protocol, the data transmission aspect of the routing protocol is further improved to form a HWMP routing protocol based on network coding(Improved Helped HWMP,IH-HWMP).Mainly use network coding technology to solve the problem of low network throughput and packet loss of wireless Mesh networks. It is proposed to combine the advantages of intra-stream coding and inter-stream coding, and use their respective characteristics to improve the network throughput and network reliability. And the application of the auxiliary node is added. The auxiliary node also uses the network coding technology to enhance the hop-by-hop performance of the routes in the network, and reduces the impact of the packet loss rate on the network. After NS2 simulation and analysis, the results show that the above improvement measures can maximize the effectiveness of the wireless Mesh network in a limited physical environment.
