At present, the Internet has had profoundly impacted on people's lives and has become an indispensable part of people's lives. However, due to the drawbacks of its original design, the current dominant TCP/IP network architecture has exposed serious problems in terms of security, scalability, mobility, etc. It is also dif:ficult to meet the increasing demands of the complex network environment and current society. In recent years, many countries have conducted in-depth explorations on the future network architecture.Under this circumstance, the CoLoR network architecture was proposed. In this thesis,we simulate and analyze packet forwarding mechanisms in CoLoR based on OMNeT++ platform. We also propose a topology reconstruction mechanism suitable for CoLoR network architecture. The major research work and innovations are as follows:Firstly,we summarize the existing problems in the current Internet, the current research status of the future Internet, and the existing verification tools(including simulators, emulators, prototype systems and testbeds)applicable to new network architectures.Besides, the necessity of developing a CoLoR network simulation platform is also stated.Secondly,we expound the basic mechanisms of CoLoR network architecture, including packet structures, data transmission mechanism, dynamic inter-domain path identifier,inter-domain path identifier encryption mechanism and two-way communication mechanism. We also introduce the OMNeT++simulation platform and INET simulation framework in brief.Thirdly,we design the overall architecture and the basic data types of the simulation platform in order to simulate the packet forwarding mechanism of CoLoR.We also design and implement all function modules, node structures and internal flows in the simulation platform. We design and implement three auxiliary modules:node configuration module, traffic generator, and network topology generator to complete the simulation easier. At the end of this part,we evaluate the performance of our simulation platform. The correctness of the implementation of the basic mechanisms and the resource consumption of the simulation platform are also evaluated. The test results under the actual scenario proves that the simulation platform can be applied to the protocol research. Finally,we propose an inter-domain topology reconstruction algorithm for CoLoR network architecture in order to ensure the security of the control plane of the CoLoR network architecture. We analyze the basic properties of the inter-domain path identifier, and its feasible usages in inter-domain topology reconstruction. We propose an inter-domain path identifier inference algorithm and inter-domain topology reconstruction algorithm based on the inter-domain path identifier sequences. The performance of the algorithms is evaluated under several different situations in the simulation platform proposed in this thesis. The evaluation results show that the proposed algorithms can effectively reconstruct the inter-domain topology and more than 99%of the used path identifiers can be inferred correctly.
