Research On The Scientific Output Performance Of Chinese Agricultural Research Systems Based On WoS Papers

Agriculture is the basis in China's industrial structure and has a long history,and it plays an important role in the national economy.Meanwhile,the development of agriculture needs technologies.After the Reform and Opening,China is becoming an agricultural power along with the increment of governmental investment on agricultural researches.In order to achieve this goal,we have to learn about our national agricultural researches,so as to clearly understand the future and prospect of the researches,and have an early plan.Agricultural scientific research systems,as the backbone of Chinese agriculture industry,their research productivities reflect the level of Chinese agricultural researches.However,most of studies in the field of agricultural researches were based on national levels or institutional levels,and few of them was based on the research output of the whole agricultural research system.Therefore,studying into the output of our national agricultural research systems has very important strategic significance obviously.Starting from agricultural research systems,this article using Web of Science as a tool,analyzed the output of China's agricultural research systems deeply,based on papers included in WoS database,with the methods of bibliometrics,word frequency stats and co-word analysis.The study was focused on papers posted by China's agricultural universities and academies of agricultural sciences between 2006 and 2016,and analyzed the output of China's agricultural research systems from the aspects of year distribution,source publications,institutions,core authors,international cooperation analysis and themes,using the standard index of paper numbers,cites numbers and the 2-year impact factors.It was discovered in this article that,in the aspect of scientific output and cites,the capability and influence of agricultural scientific research systems in China are increasing;in the aspect of academic cooperation,China's agricultural scientific research systems have strong ability of scientific research cooperating;in the aspect of source authors,the number of scientific research personnel in agricultural research system is relatively large,but there are fewer core research staffs;in the aspect of source publications,China's agricultural research systems contributed to a great deal of publications,but there are few publications with high impact;in the aspect of research themes,the research topics of agricultural scientific research system in China are still concentrated in genetics,but also have a trend leading to new forms of agriculture;in the aspect of institutions,agricultural universities have greater output than academies of agricultural sciences,and the distribution is more flat,while academies of agricultural sciences have strong regional differences.Meanwhile,the international cooperation of China's agricultural scientific research system is becoming more and more intensive in recent years,internationalization was much more improved according to the analyses of international cooperation network.
