A Narrative Study Of Cultural TV Programs

As the country's emphasis on cultural soft power continues to strengthen,the dissemination of national culture has gradually become a theme of television programs,"cultural forum"television programs started to heat up,and heat from screen to screen outside.As a window to show the image of the country,television programs have a huge impact on the construction and dissemination of one country's image.Well-made and high-profile TV shows can carry the spiritual connotation of national civilization and Chinese culture well,thus constructing a good national image.This is of great benefit to strengthening the country's soft power and building national self-confidence.Among the cultural variety shows broadcasted in recent years,the most striking one is the large-scale cultural and educational exploration program"National Treasure",which planned by CCTV at the end of 2017.The "National Treasures"received 30 large-scale comments from 20 central-level party media such as"People's Daily"and"Guangming Daily".After the first broadcast,"National Treasures" sparked heated discussions on the Internet,and it became the high score"black horse"in the TV shows of that year."National Treasures"also drove the development of the museum industry and tourism industry.It took only 3 months on the YouTube to getting 720,000 clicks."National Treasures" has become a"phenomenon-level"variety show.Therefore,this paper chooses"National Treasure"as the research object,and takes"the narrative characteristics of 'National Treasure'"as the core issue to explore how this successful cultural variety show arranges narrative.From the perspective of narratology,the narrative text of National Treasure is analyzed from the two levels of"narrative accident narrative"and"narrative discourse".In order to explore the law of TV program narrative,and put forward some suggestions,trying to provide a reference for the production of Chinese variety shows,and provide a new perspective for the thinking of cultural communication.At the level of narrative story,Firstly,from the perspective of cultural relics and their spiritual core,"National Treasure"takes'"showing the beauty of national treasure"and"seeking value identity"as narrative themes,presenting broad and profound culture while transmitting mainstream values;secondly,the program increases the typicality,comprehensiveness and viewability of the story through the arrangement of narrative characters and plots;lastly,it is peaceful.The narrative structure and the arrangement of the core events of the column not only increase the narrative completeness,but also construct the sense of ritual of the program.At the level of narrative discourse,firstly,the narrator is composed of the production group as the real author,the values as the implied author and the explicit narrator.They exert their narrative function through intervention and compound narration.Secondly,both inside and outside the audience express their emotions through their own feedback to the program,reflecting the audience's value orientation.Thirdly,through the combination of external focus narration,internal focus narration and zero focus narration,the program narrates from individual to history and from macro to micro,perfectly integrating objectivity and appeal.Fourthly,in the aspect of narrative symbols,the cooperation of lens language makes the narrative very appealing;audio and music show the broad and profound of national music and also convey important information of national spirit;subtitles and the characters in the painting supplement the narrative while supplementing the background information and promoting the positive value orientation;through the use of national elements and the choice of shape and color,the narrative is subdued.Decoration has become an important part of displaying an identifiable national image.Based on the above,the author summarizes the narrative characteristics of National Treasure into three points:first,the unity of macro-narrative and micro-narrative,and the grasp of the theme and presentation of the story.Secondly,through diversified means of story expression,increase the viewability of the program.Thirdly,the program realizes the educational fiunction of TV programs by caring for cultural values and building an emotional community.Fourth,ingeniously arrange narrative and construct national image.
