Research On Of English Abstract Texts Of Sports Core Journals In The Perspective Of Internationalization

As an important part of a journal article,English abstract plays an important role in international knowledge dissemination,academic exchange and cooperation.It is highly valued by the academic community.However,previous studies have mainly focused on such areas as medicine and linguistics,rarely involved sports disciplines,and few related researches have problems such as a single perspective and incomplete content.Based on this,this thesis applies research methods such as literature review,interview,comparative analysis and mathematical statistics to analyze comprehensively and systematically the English abstracts of 9 core sports journals,from the aspects of abstract length,abstract simplicity,abstract language,abstract structure and language,etc.At the same time,based on a comparative study of the English abstracts of sports core journals at home and abroad,we could clarify the problems existed in the development of English abstracts in China's sports core journal and figure out the reasons behind it.Thereafter,we could make related suggestions to provide references for scholars in sports to write English s and improve their qualities,as a result,promoting the internationalization of the sports core journals in China.Through the analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:Firstly,the number of words in English abstracts of domestic sports core journals is uneven and less overall;secondly,in terms of the brevity of sentences,the compound sentences used in abstracts do not conform to the English writing habits.Thirdly,in terms of structure,the abstract structure of domestic sports journals is simple,and the traditional one-part abstract form is more often used,which is not internationalized enough.Fourthly,in terms of move,the English abstracts are incomplete and each move step is confluent,there are also problems such as integration and step-inversion;Finally,in terms of language,there are non-normative problems such as incorrect use of articles,misuse of prepositions,grammatical problems such as inconsistent subject-matter,vocabulary problems such as misuse of sports terms and research terms,and punctuation Inconsistent use of English and initial capitalization and other issues.In response to the above issues,the following suggestions are made:relevant departments should update the standard of English abstracts in a timely manner and make it advance with the times,and enhance the propaganda for sports scholars to compile standards in English abstract writing so that the authors will know,learn and use them;Sports scholars should strengthen the study of English language,read some foreign related professional journals,learn English sentence patterns and expressions of sports terminology;reviewers should intensify the review of English abstracts and editors should improve their own literacy,use various opportunities to increase the training and learning of foreign language and sports professional knowledge.
