The rapid development of machine vision technology has enabled the iterative updata of visUal measurement systems.A stable,high-speed,controllable image simulation source play a very important role in verifying the correctness of the image acquisition function of vision measurement system.However,the traditional image simulation source is limited by the woking speed of the PCI bus,and can no longer support the development and verification of a new generation of high-speed vision measurement systems.Therefore,it is urgent to develop a test device which is a new high-speed image simulation source.This topic is aimed at the development and verification of the latest generation of vision measurement systems,and proposes a design of high-speed image simulation source.This image simulation source innovation uses the latest generation PCI_Express 3.0(peripheral component interconnect express)and FPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array)as the system development platform.The PCI_Express 3.0 serial bus extension standard is applied to high-speed communication between the host PC and the lower-level FPGA,and its operating clock frequency can reach 250MHz.The working clock of the lower-level FPGA can reach 400MHz.Besides,the actual working speed of the whole system is at least more than IGb/s,and the peak working rate is about 8Gb/s,which can fully satisfy the CoaXPress protocol supporting the standard link of the new generation camera.In order to support the testing of a variety of vision measurement systems,this design also combined some of the shortcomings of traditional industrial camera analog sources,and proposed a high-speed image simulation source that can support any switching of CoaXPress or Camera Link interface protocols,which can output the image source for different resolutions and frame rates required by vision measurement systems.And the user can specify a constant single or multiple image sources.The analog source can be used to test the vision measurement system in a variety of situations,thus ensuring efficient,standardized and normal operation of the measurement system.Compared with traditional industrial cameras,this new image simulation source has a large improvement in the range of use,and can be applied to the testing and verifieation of visual measurement systems in many cases,and the fixed image source output makes the verification work more conveniently and succinctly.
