With the development of technologies, CCD Camera is widely applied in practical applications. It is important to study the CCD digital camera's control and data transmission. Camera Link is a kind of interface, which is developed along with the video data outputting and grabbing, and breaks the communication rate bottle-neck between the digital camera and the image acquisition system. This thesis did mainly research in Camera Link interface technology.In this thesis, several general camera data transmission patterns were analysised firstly, and present research situation of the image acquisition system was introduced. Then the principle, signal, hardware makeup and the port's distribution of Camera Link interface were expatiated detailly. At the same time, the technology of LVDS, which was used in the Camera Link interface, was simply introduced, so did some skills in the design of application.According to the character of Camera Link interface, the image acquisition and display system with digital camera based on the protocol of Camera Link was designed. FPGA was taken as the main controller. With the technology of UART and LVDS, the system realized the signal transform from LVDS to LVCMOS/LVTTL, and accomplished the image acquiring from CCD camera, serial communication between the image acquisition system and the camera, the control of the camera, and image display with LCD. Experimental results indicate that the system obtained expected functions and was capable of presenting a clear picture of an object.The research of this thesis gave a strong support to the image processing system, and the high-speed digital camera's control and data transmission will be widely applied in more image processing system and other fields.
