Study On The Establishment Of Evaluation System For The Information Search Behavior Of University Library Users Under Network Environment

With the coming of internet era ushered by the advance of science and technology,university library is not only limited to the service of books and reference materials lending and returning for users,but also undertaking the tasks of school teaching,academic research,and so forth.Under network environment,the ways of users'searching information,the service forms provided by library and the modes of library collection are all in the changing times,which requires university library's managing conception must always keep up with the times.Thus,the lack of resources is no longer the main obstacle for university l ibrary users when they want to obtain relevant information in such an environment,but the fact that hoxw to seek out what they want f-rom massive information has become their major concernsThis study is aimed to research the evaluation system for information search behavior of university library users under network environment and establish such an evaluation system.Based on qualitative research methods of grounded theory and combined with document literature and depth interview,the study acquired 4 main category factors and 18 sub-category factors affecting the information search behavior of university library users bv three levels of encoding process,including open encoding,axial encoding and selective encoding.On the basis of theoretical model of influence factors obtained,the basic framework of evaluation index system for information search behavior was proposed.Then,analytic hierarchy process was used to conduct the qualitative and quantitative analysis for information search behavior of' university library users from an overall perspective,so as to build an evaluation index system of 4 first-level indexes and 18 second-level indexes for information search behavior of university library users under network environment,following root method to calculate the corresponding weight of each evaluation index.The evaluation indexes and corresponding weights of tlhis study xwere expressed as follows:4 first-level indexes and their weights:User individual factor(0.1365),library environment factor(0.5673),situation factor(0.1145)and information factor(0.181 7).18 second-level indicators and their weights:Demographic characteristics(0.0084),personality psychological characteristics(0.0175),user identity(0.0130)9 their knowledge background(0.0485),information literacy(0.0492),library collection resources(0.2885),library network environment(0.1412),library service(0.1002),user training(0.0374),information requirements(0.0160),search consciousness(0.0139),interpersonal network(0.0295),system availability(0.0551),information type(0.0067),information relativity(0.0457),information integrity(0.0381),information reliability(0.0188)and information accessibility(0.0724).Through the establishment of evaluation system for information search behavior of university library users under networik environment,this study hopes to pertinently and reasonably put forward the following proposals:Highlight resource corntent and improve information infrastructure;Set up information mutual assistance and promote the integration of social platforms;Focus on personality needs and expand database coverage;Strengthen education promotion and enhance socialization service level;Innovate service function and optimize innovation-type service resources,and the like.
