As the global economic growth is slowdown,it is becoming an important task for the traditional manufacturing enterprises to enhance competitiveness by the means of improving on-time delivery rate,reducing inventory and dead stock,cost down under the premise of guaranteed quality.This paper describes the Production and Material Control(PMC)research status,theoretical basis and management mode both home and abroad,combining with the real case study of Company F's PMC management and improvement.The key points are as follows:1.Discussing the PMC research status at home and abroad;elaborating the management characteristics,representatives,main contributions and influences of different times;also expounding the theory of PMC,supply chain management and bullwhip effect,VMI and lean production.2.Introduced the Company F,its production process,PMC's organization,duty and operation mode.Analyzed the existing PMC issues in Company F: shortage of basic manpower,setting the safety stock of semi-finished and finished products in no differentiation,low on-time delivery rate due to raw material control problems and low completion rate of each production process;undue setting the inventory days,low rate of material match in the stock,poor quality management of suppliers and lagging information technology resulted in low inventory turnover;EOL(End of life),ECN changes and leading to high idle amount;low balance rate of production lines,excess logistics staff and frequent production lines switching raising the production cost.3.Corrective measures to Company F's PMC management mainly are improving the basic human resources,setting reasonable safety stock,enhancing the suppliers' management,improving production management,raising the material matching rate,identifying the responsibilities of dead stock and claims to the customer,sharing the excess stock,improving the EOL material control,optimizing the production lines,material releasing process,logistics and production line switching at lower cost.And planned the PMC development of Company F,mainly promoting e-warehousing and using VMI.4.Determine the safeguard measure for PMC management of Company F,which are mainly as follows: improve the flexibility of basic manpower,strengthen supplier management,reasonably set safety inventory,and strengthen the promotion of lean production.Finally,summarized and prospected the PMC management of Company F.
