Since the 21 st century,wireless mobile communication technology has been greatly developed.With the rapid development of science and economy,the demand for wireless communication equipment becomes more and more strict.As wireless communication devices such as mobile phones and portable computers continue to integrate into people's daily lives,microwave frequencies are becoming more crowded.In order to meet the requirements of communication bandwidth and transmission rate,the development of millimeter wave(mmwave)band has become the research hotspot of scholars and researchers all over the world.In this paper,mm-wave antenna and mm-wave array antenna with wide working band are studied.In this paper,three kinds of wideband directional mm-wave antennas and two kind of mm-wave array antenna are designed and studied.The details of this work is as follows:Firstly,three mm-wave antennas are designed.The first one is designed with circular structure,etched semi-circular arc-shaped slot and CPW feed,and the directional radiation characteristics are obtained by placing the cavity-backed structure on the back of the substrate.The final design meets the initial design specifications.The second one is simulated by Cshaped patch and circular patch,in which the C-shaped patch is fed directly and the circular patch is fed indirectly through the gap between the C-shaped patch and the C-shaped patch.The bandwidth of the proposed mm-wave antenna can be adjusted by adjusting the radius of the circular patch and the C-shaped patch.The size of the gap between the circular patch and the C-shaped patch can also affect the impedance matching of the proposed mm-wave antenna.The designed mm-wave antenna also meets the design requirements.The third type is designed by using a multi-ellipsoid dipole antenna,in which two small elliptical branches are added to both sides of the elliptical monopole patch.By adjusting the length of the long axis and the short axis of the elliptical monopole patch and the small elliptical branches,the frequency band of the mm-wave antenna can be adjusted effectively.The distance between a small elliptical branches and elliptical monopole patch also has a significant effect on the performance of the mm-wave antenna.After that,two low side-lobe mm-wave array antenna are designed.The first one is a 22×10 mm-wave array antenna with a low profile,and the 3dB beam width on E and H-planes is about 4° and 10°,and the side-lobe level is lower(lower than-27dB),which can be used in many mm-wave radar systems.The second one is 24×10 double-layer mm-wave array antenna,which is improved on the basis of the first one.The mm-wave array antenna adopts a double-layer substrate structure,and the radiation patch of the antenna and the feeding network are respectively located on both sides of the ground,and are connected by via.The array antenna has a relatively stable radiation pattern,and the 3dB beam width on E and H-planes is about 4° and 10 °,and the side-lobe level on the YOZ plane can achieve-33 dB and has good performance to meet design specifications.
