Millimeter microstrip antenna have been focused by many antenna researchers in recent years, due to their inherent advantages like lightweight, thin profile, flexible design, low cost and good radiation characteristics like short wave length, wide band and strong penetrability in snow ,rain and fog etc.The major research of this paper is the design, simulation, manufacture and test about two type and four microstrip arrays operating at 35GHz.This paper researches on how to improve the performance of mm-wave microstrip arrays and how to get mm-wave microstrip arrays having high gain and low side lobe level. The main work includes:1. A chebyshev-distribution antenna has been designed which includes the theorial analysis and simulation of a corner-fed square cell patch, and the design of a 8 ports microstrip power devider with unequal output as the feed network of the array. The array has been tested, and the testing result accords with design purpose.2. Two series-fed line arrays have been design, which are both used corner-fed square patch as cell. One is the traditional series-fed line array with taper current distribution, the other is added the 1/4λg transformers to obtain Chebyshev distribution. From the comparison about this two line arrays, a conclusion has been made the Chebyshev array will be better if not high gain is not requested while the low side lobe level is requested, or else the traditional array will be better.3. A planar 256 cells array has been designed, which has the uniform fed-line as feed-work. The test result shows well accord to the prolepsis design. The test gain is 22dB.This millimeter-wave microstrip antenna arrays in the dissertation can be applied to the millimeter wave radar system. The work about theoretical anlysis and experimental in this paper can be well based to large microstrip array research.
