Socialism with Chinese characteristics opens a new era,and people's needs for a better life have become increasingly widespread.In this fast-paced era,people are eager to slow down the pace to enjoy a better life.China's variety show market is also keeping up with the trend of the times,showing New booming trends.Starting from 2017,the theme of "Yearning for Life" is to cater to the current popular variety show,which starts with "Slow Down" "Freedom" and "Real Life".Variety shows such as documentary shooting techniques,simple character relationships,and slow narrative rhythms are popular with the majority of viewers.The "slow variety show" has a hot screen,breaking the long-term situation of the competitive variety show,opening up a new era of TV variety,successfully responding to people's current anxiety and the needs of the times,bringing a new program experience to the audience.The "Yearning for Life" program is the first "slow variety show" in China.It is jointly launched by Zhejiang Hexin Culture Media Co.,Ltd.and Hunan Satellite TV.Since the program has been broadcasted,it has become a clear stream in the reality show.This article takes the "slow variety show" as the research content,using the questionnaire survey and the in-depth interview method.Firstly,this paper sorts out the development process of the theory of "use and satisfaction" and preliminarily indicates the research of this theory at this stage.The direction and the reason for studying the "slow variety show" in combination with this theory;secondly,the origin and development of the "slow variety show" and the profile and program features of the "Yearning for Life" program are described,and combined with the research of scholars at this stage to define “ Slow variety show” concept.The second chapter of this paper combines the four basic types of effects of Denis McQuail's survey on TV media,and investigates the motivation and demand satisfaction of the audience of "Yearning for Life".The study found that the audience of the program is mainly composed of youth groups.The mobile Internet is the main way for audiences to watch.The main motivation for watching programs is entertainment and leisure time.The third chapter analyzes and discusses the needs of the program audience in the process of watching the program,and analyzes and discusses the four aspects: the mood conversion needs,the social needs,the self-confirmation needs and the information acquisition requirements.Research shows that the audience is most satisfied with the need to change their minds-“entertainment and leisure”.The fourth chapterand the fifth chapter put forward the shortcomings of the "Yearning for Life" program according to the survey results,and proposed corresponding solutions to provide reference for the development of this type of program,and promote the long-term stable development of the "slow variety show".
