Memorization And Forgetting:Research On The Construction Of Social Memory In The Age Of Social Media

The construction of social memory needs to be based on the media.With the continuous innovation of computer technology,the development of modern media has undergone several changes.From machine printing,radio and television media to digital media,every change is promoting the transformation of social structure and changing the main body of social memory.Especially with the popularity of social media today,the construction of social memory faces unprecedented opportunities and challenges.While social media helps individuals,communities,and nations remember,they are also deconstructing the existing social memories.In order to better carry out the practice of digital memory engineering and preserve history and memory,we must fully recognize the role of social media in the construction of social memory and avoid the risk of deconstructing memory.This paper explores the future digital memory practices based on an in-depth analysis of the impact of social media on social memory construction and the deconstruction risks brought about by social memory.The full text is divided into four parts stated below.The first Chapter is focused on communication Media and social memory.This chapter starts with the medium as a container of social memory,and uses SWOT analysis to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of traditional media represented by newspapers,radio and television,and new media represented by social media in the construction of social memory.The second chapter is about the construction of social memory in the social media environment.This chapter first analyzes the main body and method of construction about social memory in the social media environment,and then discusses how social media plays a role in the construction of mainstream social memory,and once again studies the community represented by homosexuality on how to construct social memory and seek social identity through social media.The third Chapter is referred to the deconstruction of social media and social memory.This chapter deeply analyzes the deconstructive threats brought by social media to social memory from the perspective of deconstructive postmodernism.It believes that there are four main risks listed below.First,it brings social memory degeneration.The second is undermining the integrity of social memory,the third is bringing about social amnesia and the fourth is violating the right to privacy and deprive the public of the right to forget.The fourth chapter is concerned with the memory organization and digital memory construction.Based on practice,this chapter mainly discusses the experience and shortcomings of the British social media archives and combines the advantages and disadvantages of social media to think about the domestic measures of building digital memory engineering.And then it conceives of the digital memory engineering of future globalization.
