The rapid development of social economy not only intensifies the competition among regions,but also makes regions put more emphasis on their own own image formation and promotion than before.Image communication,as a form of communication which can spread widely among the masses and differences between various culture,is one of the most important approaches to develop regional image.In the new era,it is worthy to think how to communicate and promote Hainan regional image while Hainan has been a vital window for Chinese image.Nonetheless,it is faced with many new requirements and difficulties to spread the unique cultural connotation of Hainan and display the reform and great changes of Hainan through video images,especially in the initial stage of establishing the pilot free trade zone in Hainan and gradually exploring the free trade port with Chinese characteristics.Hence,it is of both crucial theoretical and practical significance to deepen the research on video image field in Hainan,and put forward novel image communication strategies based on the realistic needs of Hainan's development.The essay will study on the communication of Hainan regional image from the perspective of image.And the main body can be divided into four parts.Firstly,the article will make it clear that it takes the narrow sense of dynamic video image as the research object by sorting out the concept of image.The function of image to regional image is described in detail from three aspects:recording regional development,spreading regional culture and regional image formation.Secondly,it will focus on current situation of image communication of Hainan,summarize the communication of the regional image of Hainan by existing video works from a political,economic,cultural and ecological perspective and reveal the practical problems that Hainan's image communication is facing.Thirdly,the main focus of this part is analyzing humanistic documentary Ride with Mr.Wright as a specific case study.It will provide reference for image communication of Hainan through discussing the strengths and weaknesses of this documentary from the perspectives of creative expression,cross-cultural communication and diversified communication channels.Finally,the essay will be based on the development needs of Hainan in the new era,combined with the development status of Hainan's film and television industry.And it will provide inspiration and suggestions for the long-term development of Hainan's film and television industry from the perspectives of the core of content,communication channels,international communication,brand building and talent training,so as to play a positive and beneficial role in external communication of Hainan's regional image and Hainan's popularity and reputation at home and abroad.
