With the rapid development of optical communication technology in recent years,the bandwidth demand and data services of optical transmission network have also increased dramatically,and the number of users has also increased rapidly.The ultra high transmission speed,the ultra large transmission capacity and the ultra long transmission distance are becoming the future goal and direction of optical communication technology.Optical transport network(Optical Transport Network OTN)technology,the integration of optical synchronous digital system(Synchronous Digital Hierarchy,SDH)and wavelength division multiplexing(Wavelength Division Multiplexing,WDM)advantage in each field of life are widely used,such as: power communication,mobile communication,railway communication etc..With its support of multi service,large capacity,high reliability and high quality,OTN technology will have a wide range of prospects in the future.With the continuous increase of information transmission and transmission speed in OTN,the nonlinear effect of optical fiber has become the main factor limiting the performance improvement of OTN system.In order to overcome the problem of OTN improving the bit error rate due to the nonlinear effect and dispersion in long-distance and high-speed transmission,we use the forward error correction technology to ensure the transmission effect of OTN.The main work of this article is as follows:(1)To study the optical transport network technology,introduce its working principle,advantages and disadvantages and application(2)The error control method of OTN technology is studied,and the forward error correction algorithm based on RS code is introduced,and its coding algorithm and error correction algorithm are researched.(3)The simulation experiment is carried out,and the effect of forward error correction algorithm on the bit error rate of OTN control is analyzed through the simulation results.The purpose of this paper is to study and learn from the OTN technology and error control methods,and to further understand the characteristics and advantages of OTN technology.Through the simulation experiment method,the impact of forward error correction technology on the OTN transmission process is more intuitively understood.Finally,the future development trend of OTN technology and error control technologyis prospected.
