A Study On The Pragmatic Strategies Of Dong Qing

As an outstanding representative hostess of CCTV,Dong Qing's host language is decent and full of cultural connotations.In her program,Dong Qing is very good at using language to render the atmosphere of the program and arouse the resonance of the audience.How does Dong Qing use language to express her feelings in the program? How does she choose pragmatic strategies for good communication?All of these will be the research questions of this paper.Based on the relevant theories of pragmatic strategies in pragmatics,this paper will analyze the pragmatic characteristics of Dong Qing's host language by taking two of her programs,that is,“Chinese Poetry Conference” and “Declaimer”,as corpus,and then reveal the factors that influences the choice and application of pragmatic strategies.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which discusses the significance of the topic,the current situation of pragmatic strategies at home and abroad,the current situation of the host's pragmatic strategies,the current situation of the research on the hostess Dong Qing,and the research methods of this paper.Chapter two discusses the pragmatic features of Dong Qing's host language that is dignified,decent,relaxing,emotional and profound.In the third chapter,the first section firstly defines the concept of "pragmatic strategy",defines the pragmatic strategy in variety shows,and then explores Dong Qing's application of pragmatic strategy from the aspects of cooperative principle,politeness principle,adaptation theory and relevance theory.In the fourth chapter,this article discusses the mechanism and causes of Dong Qing's choice of pragmatic strategies.In this part,by using the method of comparative study,we find that the orientation of TV programs,the context,the main body of conversation and so on will have an impact on the host's choice of pragmatic strategies.Chapter III and Chapter IV are the main parts of this paper.Based on the relevant theories of pragmatic strategies,this paper explores thepragmatic strategies of Dong Qing's hosting art and implementation with the help of speech expression in the two programs,hoping to provide some reference for the future study of other host's or hostess' programming language.
