With the more and more frequently economic exchanges between countries,foreign currency appear frequently,but the security features of each country's paper money are not the same,and people can only identify a small amount of paper money security features by eyes,which for bank staff is a challenge.With the development of intelligent equipment,money detector gradually replaced the manual identification of paper money,but the existing money detector can not identify different foreign currency,can not be compatible with the dollar,euro,yen,Hong Kong dollars,pounds and other common foreign currency.The common anti-counterfeiting features of the national notes are magnetic signal characteristics and image characteristics,the common money detector only use the magnetic signal to identify,but the most currency contain a lot of information in multi-spectral images.Therefore,the study of image processing system in multi-currency money detector has great theoretical significance and application value.In view of the above situation,this paper puts forward the design of Foreign Currency Counting Machine image processing system based on ARM9 + FPGA + CIS sensor and runs the embedded Linux OS.ARM9 can not directly connect with the CIS sensor,proposed use FPGA to control CIS sensor collection of paper notes white light reflection,infrared reflection images,save image data to cache and forwarded to ARM9;we have designed the embedded Linux kernel driver module to complete the image data acquisition inARM9,and complete the application of real-time image processing program framework.For the embedded Linux system,the bandwidth jitter problem occurs in the high-speed image data acquisition,and the 16-buffer solution is proposed in the FPGA.The PC-side network server is designed based on the network interface,Real-time display image processing results,and through a friendly interface we can quickly view the entire bill of white light reflection and infrared reflection images through the network.Based on the above design,we achieve the Foreign Currency Counting Machine image acquisition and processing system and it can collect the white light,infrared images of every kind of foreign currency by real-time,and the system is stable.The test results show that the image processing system of the foreign currency money detector implemented in this paper fully satisfies the requirements in the indicators.The results show that the image acquisition system and the accuracy of the recognition result are tested in US dollars,euros and Hong Kong dollars.The system described in this article hasbeen implemented in small quantities and tested in some banks.
