Design And Implementation Of The Monitoring Platform For Government Websites

Internet is a diversified platform via which public can communicate with each other,which provides people with a new way of information exchange,which creates a highly opened public opinion platform.In this situation,government has to make government affairs known to public in order to allow public to engage into government affairs so that gain faith and satisfaction from public.So,our government is impelling the development of E-government.At present,the operation of government website becomes an important part of government work performance.But governments at all levels have their own website which result into too websites to assess through manual statistic,because it would cost too much manpower and material resources to count the total number and calculate the frequency and compute many other exponents.So,we must let computer to help us.A monitoring platform has been designed and developed to assess the government work performance.First,a custom-made Web Crawler System based on an open source Web Crawler called WebCollector has been developed to climb data from target websites at a regular interval;Second,an improved algorithm based on page structure clustering is used to extract informative content from web pages and retrieve the specific content efficiently,such as update-time,resources,title and so on;Then,the data collected in step 2 have been counted through analyzing the relationship among sections;At last,statistical results are showed on website pages with tables and charts.This monitoring platform can assess the operation of government's website at all level with good accuracy and efficiency,so that it would save a lot resources and provide government with an approach to advance the development of E-government.
