Almost all colleges and universities have a portal website, and most faculties anddepartments have built their own websites. These sites have much in common due to similargoals. However, the quality of these sites is very uneven, because of the difference in progressof information technology, construction funds and abilities of website builders. Thesedispersedly built sites are not only conducive to the unified management and the sharing ofinformation technology investment, but also buried a large number of information securityrisks. This paper analyses the status of the university websites as well as the existing websitegroup management system, combines with the needs of the university informationization, designs and implements a website group management system oriented for the universities. The system meets the needs of the websites content management, provides a managementplatform for the information management department to manage the faculties and departmentswebsite uniformly, and ultimately achieves the goal of saving the construction investment ofthe websites, improving the quality of the websites, and enhancing the effect of the websites. This paper first introduces the website group management system and the relatedtechnologies, and then begins the requirements analysis and the analysis of user roles insystem. Based on the analysis above, this paper carries out the architecture design and thedetailed functional design of the system, This paper introduces the detail implementationschemas based on the open source prototype system OpenCMS with Spring Framework andJPA Framework, and discuss the key techniques including load balancing technology and thedata management used by the website group management system.According to the Google Analytics statistics of a particular college website, and based onthe relationship between several indicators including response time, throughput, online usersand concurrent users, this paper designs and performs a pressure testing of concurrent userson the system, and then analyses the testing results.Through the analysis of the system runtime data and the pressure testing results, thewebsite group management system implemented in this paper achieves the design objectivesand meets the requirements. It can be used to manage a small and medium website group withload balancing technology supported.
