| As a part of national soft power,national image shows its important position more and more.The formation of national image relies mainly on the international news flow,so news and speech reports of the media are crucial to the formation of a country's image.As one of the most influential news media in German society,Der Spiegel has a high influence in the world,so its reports and views on China have a certain representativeness,and it has a certain practical significance to study the construction of China's national image by Spiegel magazine.In this paper,"Der Spiegel" magazine covers China cover report as the object of study,selected "Der Spiegel" from October 1,1949 to December 31,2017 of the cover of China,a total of 53.Through the study of the cover story of China in different periods and different backgrounds of Spiegel magazine,this paper tries to understand the angle and tendency of Der Spiegel's report to China,and explores the change and trend of "Chinese image" created by Der Spiegel in the course of history,trying to sum up the Chinese national image in Spiegel magazine,and the Spiegel The characteristics of the cover story of the weekly magazine,so as to find some effective means of international communication,and how to show a real China to bring beneficial thinking.This article contains an introduction and four chapters.This paper explains the origin of the research,literature review and research methods in the introduction part.In the literature review,this paper combs the concepts of "national image","The research status of Chinese media image" and "Cover reportresearch review" on the basis of previous studies.The first chapter of the paper is a general overview of the cover story of Spiegel magazine.This chapter is divided into the first,"Spiegel" weekly cover coverage of the concept and positioning,the second is aimed at the "Spiegel" weekly coverage of China's cover story of the overall Chinese image.In other words,the paper combs 68 years of "Der Spiegel" magazine China's national image.The second chapter of this thesis is to analyze the 53 cover stories which have been selected by the sample.From the title,the source of the interview object and the feature of the cover image,the paper analyzes the main content and tendency distribution of the cover story of Spiegel magazine.In the third chapter,the paper makes a systematic analysis on the Chinese image constructed in the cover story of Spiegel magazine.First of all,according to China's "Five Dynasties leadership group" to divide into five-timeperiods,in turn to observe the different time period,different backgrounds,"Der Spiegel" topic selection trend,so as to explain the Time magazine "China's image" of the development and change.Second,from the political,economic,military,scientific and technological culture from four angles,to show the "Spiegel" weekly understanding of China's national image.Finally,the paper analyzes the characteristics of the cover story of Spiegel magazine.The fourth chapter of the paper is the influential factor of the cover story of Spiegel magazine in China.Taking Der Spiegel as an example,this chapter will discuss how to make a great impact on the angle and mode of media coverage from three aspects: the role of German historical cognition to China,the influence of national strategy and the influence of ideology.The paper further expounds the influence of the national strategy and the difference of ideology between China and Western countries on the angle choice and value judgment of media report.At the end of the thesis,the author puts forward that we should not only take a correct view of the evaluation of China by Spiegel,understand the limitations of the Western media,but also strengthen the ability of China's own cultural soft power and cross-cultural communication,win the initiative of discourse,and strive for China to build a peaceful rising power image. |
