Since AIDS was first discovered in the United States in 1981,the disease has spread to the world in a short period of time and has become one of the major infectious diseases.Some scholars have compared the disease to the "Black Death of the 20 th century." Since its discovery,the threat to humanity has continued to increase.In 1988,the World Health Organization decided to use December 1st every year as the "World AIDS Day" to raise people's awareness of AIDS and to better achieve prevention and treatment of AIDS.AIDS is a powerful destructive force.HIV does not directly kill people.Instead,it destroys the body's immune system and causes people to lose immunity and loses immunity.As a result,viruses and pathogens can easily invade the body and cause infections such as malignancy.Waiting for other diseases eventually leads to death.And at present,the global medical science level cannot cure AIDS.AIDS has already threatened human life and certain forms of life to a certain extent.In fact,AIDS is no longer just a disease.AIDS issues also affect all aspects of the economy,politics,civilization,and law.Faced with such a major social issue,how should AIDS be reported by the news media? Because the public's perception of AIDS is influenced by the way and content of news reporting,coupled with the infectivity and incurability of AIDS,every detail and knowledge about HIV transmission and prevention is what the public desperately wants.Understanding content.In China,the number of people infected with AIDS is also on the rise.In the face of the growing HIV/AIDS epidemic,how Chinese media should report news on AIDS-related issues and achieve effective prevention and control of AIDS through the media.This is a problem that many media are facingThis article will use the news report on HIV/AIDS as the subject of the report on the “World AIDS Day” of the “People's Daily” in the 29 years between 1988 and 2017.We will use a discourse analysis method to in-depth interpret the selected sample and find out from it.The discourse characteristics of AIDS reporting in different historical periods,and analysis of causes.The key chapters of this article are the fourth chapter of chapter IV.In the fourth chapter,we divide the period and combine the historical backgrounds of different periods to draw the discourse characteristics of the three periods.In chapter 5,we analyze the combination of external and internal factors.The reason for the change of discourse,knowing what to do and knowing why.
